Penticton Iron Man
Penticton is proud host to the Annual Subaru Ironman Canada Triathlon, where thousands of athletes and volunteers line the streets every August to participate or support this international event. The 2009 Ironman Canada Triathlon was held on August 30th.
Participants will test their strength and endurance by swimming 2.4 mi (3.8 km), biking 112 mi (180 km) and running 26.2 mi (42.2 km). Ironman Canada is not for the faint at heart.
Volunteers and the public offer support and keep the fluids and food available for the ironmen to take a break and cool off.
